Not nearly as well done as others in this genre. Acting is rather wooden and dated.

Pretty good miniseries about the occupation of a Channel Island (the fictional St. Gregory) during WWII. It got a bit melodramatic for me with romantic relations between Islanders and Germans. The Germans did occupy the islands of Jersey and Guernsey during the War hoping for a launching pad to invade England. This series has 6 episodes about an hour each starting in 1940 (I believe). It ends rather abruptly, locals get caught, the Germans are still there, no indication of the War ending or the ally victory.

Enjoyed this series very much. Tracks with other movies and tv series on the Channel Islands during Nazi occupation. I only wish they had followed up with Vol II which would take us to the end of the occupation and surrender of the German occupying force. Story moves well with very few dialogue soft spots.

This is a great series on a community on the Channel Islands and the invasion and occupation WWII by the Nazis. The cast is amazing, acting fantastic and the story compelling. It does end leaving one hanging. Too bad they didn't make a follow up season leading to the end of the war and occupation.

Such a good presentation of how the folks coped with being occupied by the Nazi's as they used this island as a staging place to bomb England. Very good - well worth your time.

Another great historical drama, with amazing acting. I have always been interested in the fate of the Channel Islands during the second war, and this series shows it very well. I watched it several years ago when it was first in the library catalogue. I am disappointed that there are no more available. However I am glad to hear that the series is available on Net Flicks.
