This comprehensive book is a great place to start with American Indian ancestor research whether you're a beginner or an advanced level genealogist. It has a Timeline of Events including dates of Treaties and Removal Acts. Lawsuits such as the Cherokee Nation v. Georgia are summarized, and it gives a wealth of info about unusual records such as Trading Post records. There are case studies to show the process of how a researcher used these records to solve a genealogical problem. Use with How to Research American Indian Bloodlines and Ethnic Genealogy, and you can't go wrong.
