With this powerful story, Barbara Delinsky, the bestselling and acclaimed author of "Coast Road" and "Three Wishes," has written her richest and most exciting novel yet. At its center is Lily Blake, a talented singer who shuns the limelight and cherishes her privacy. Tricked by a devious reporter into unwittingly giving an interview about her friendship with a distinguished churchman -- a newly appointed Cardinal -- she finds herself accused of having had an affair with him. My biggest gripe about this book was how a 34 y/o woman living independently since the age of 18 could possibly even think that it was okay to talk about a (hypothetical) sexual relationship with the Cardinal (I mean seriously! Of all the public figures in the world to talk about) and to a reporter for crying out loud!

She was very fortunate that she had a home to go to, people who would back her up, and a partner who practically worshipped her.
