The minute I started to read, I fell in love with this book instantly. Unlike many main characters whom the reader comes to love as the story unfolds, Colie was wonderful from the beginning. I truly felt for her and I wish this book had been around when I was in my early teens. There are some wonderful messages here about making the best of a situation, being yourself and learning to let go of the past. It was very hard as I neared the end, knowing I would have to say goodbye to Colie, but the memory of this story will stay with me for a long time

Disliked the ending.

Spoiler Alert

She should not have dated either of them
It was good she did not call back the new guy
However, she wasn't attracted to the other one either. So it put me off that despite zero attraction, she decided to go for that guy.
She should have just stayed single. Like seriously.

I heard this author write mostly romance novels but this wasn't cheesy romance at all. I was really surprised by how much I liked it.

Breathtaking. I read "Just Listen" and I got hooked on Sarah Dessen books. The story, seemed, sadly, way too rushed and I felt like there should`ve been more to it. Still, a fantastic book.

This was not my favorite Sarah Dessen book, but I thought that it was interesting and a good read.

Last Chance and Keeping the Moon are THE SAME BOOK - just under different titles. Keeping the Moon is the American version and Last Chance is the version from the UK, but the contents are the same. Confusing huh?? Sometimes publishers do this because they think one title will appeal more to different countries. You can check by clicking on "Full Record" - it says "also published as"

Dessen excels at the coming of age during summer vacation story. Colie has serious self-esteem issues that only a fifteen year old can, augmented by her experiences of always being the new and fat kid and then the later rumours that come from the cruelness of other teenage girls. However, despite these issues, she never comes across as whiny, rather scarred and just desperately trying to survive. In reading the novel, while the plot holds no surprises, you are pulled through by watching Colie's growth as a person. The book shows its age a bit with references to Walkman and the Columbia House CD subscription, but the narrative itself is ageless. My only problem was that the boy Colie develops a crush on is eighteen years old, and the gap between them felt big enough to be a bit creepy to me. Three years in your twenties is nothing, but three years in your teens is huge. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed the novel and following Colie as she found herself.
