Essential for understanding all the happenings of Episode 1 movie.

Yes, there are politics, but, there is also some great details on how Palpatine was manipulating everyone around him. He was really the master of everything happening in the galaxy.

You also get some great details on Jedi that are not in any of the movies. Which was awesome. There was also some great detail about the Trade Federation and characters that are forefront in the Clone Wars.

It is a bit of a long read...but, well worth the effort. It really gave me a better understanding of the inner workings of the Senate, Jedi and the Galaxy as a whole.

Well, in my opinion, there is too much politics and not so much action. I finished it anyway, just so I don't lose the "continuum" in reading the whole huge saga.

It earned 3* from me.

Darth Maul: The shadow hunter, which follows in the timeline is better.
