We love this story, my daughter is 9 and we try to find good quality stories to listen to on the way to swimming lessons, etc. This is the same author that did Stuart Little & Charlotte's Web. It is less know, but equally as charming. I recommend it!

Have you ever wondered if the book you loved as a child would hold up to reading as an adult? This was my favorite as a kid and when I heard that E.B. White narrated the audiobook, I had to listen. This book holds up. It makes me feel good and gentle and peaceful. E.B. White's narration was delightful. He also did the narration for Charlotte's Web, so I'll listen to that one too, but, contrary to popular opinion, I always liked Trumpet of the Swan better.

Louis is a Trumpeter Swan who can't trumpet. Obviously, this is quite a problem. Louis resourceful, if slightly conceited, father steals a trumpet for his son to use as a voice. With the help of his human friend Sam, Louis sets out to earn money to pay back the store owner for the trumpet, learn to play it, and win the heart of Serena, a beautiful female swan. This book has humor, positive themes, and a few facts about birds, music, and geography.
