Oh gosh. This book made me really think about verbal abuse and how it affects people. Kids these days continue verbal abuse everywhere and don't think about the others. This book touched my heart.

Hope uses the example of Anne Frank and the support of her friends to survive her mother's verbal abuse. In the process, her mother too, is helped.
Takes place in Oregon.

This is a very nice and touching book. It is suitable for adults and kids. It is very sad but meaningful. There is no reason not to love it. Best book ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For ashleyolsen77:
It's because Tyler didn't cry as much when he was a baby. Remember? Hope's father left because Hope cried alot when she was young.

I cried near the end, when she told her mother that she hated being insulted. Hope is so strong! I wish I had her inner power

I randomly picked Call Me Hope off the shelves of my school's library, not really knowing what to expect. I started reading it, and almost immediatly, I was hooked. Not your average family problem book, but instead much better. I love the way Hope finds so many different ways to cope with her mom, all of them are so creative and inspiring. The end was great. I REALLY think anyone who sees this book should pick it up, you won't be dissapointed.
