Based on the hit Food Network program of the same name, "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" attempts to combine travel guide, cookbook, and show diary. Unfortunately, it fails at all three aspects. Uninspired, cliché-ridden narratives for each location are followed by somewhat intriguing but photo-less recipes and any funny stories or off-camera tidbits that might have brought some humor and interest to the book remain notably absent.

Limited in scope and poorly organized, the book lacks any of the show's character and feels drab from the opening page.

I didn't find this recipe book very appealing although, my husband and I absolutely love this show! I guess we just have different tastes and cooking styles than those in the book. Perhaps, volume two will be more to our liking. I did appreciate the write ups and histories for each of the restaurants featured in the book.

I have used this book again and again! From watching the show on Food Network, its nice to have the recipes on hand to re-create at home.

This book is moderately interesting, but I think I'm going to throw up if I hear Fieri say one more time

I would like to suggest that the Georgetown Library to purchuse this book as it appears very popular and difficult to bring in from other libraries in Halton Hills
