In the spring of 1926, the corpses of three men are found in shallow graves off the beaten path in Epping Forest outside of London. Each one was shot through the heart. Called in to lead the investigation, DCI Alec Fletcher of Scotland Yard is under urgent orders from his supervisor to solve the murders quickly and to keep his wife, the Honourable Daisy Dalrymple Fletcher, away from the case.

I enjoy cozies of all sorts. From the more intense ones to the lighter, frothy ones. This book is on the lighter side. From my viewpoint, I need frosting sometimes. When I want a lighter read, I go for Swenson, Daheim, etc. When I want heavy, I go for Kellerman. Love the variety. Love this one!

If you're a fan, SKIP! Did not have the same feel as other Daisy mysteries.

If the inhumanities of war sicken you--and in this case it is against a fellow-soldier--don't bother to start this book. The descriptive part is introduced toward the end of the book, by which time you have become deeply involved in the mystery, and are ready to learn the solution.
