Lovely cute book full of information about animals and farms. The bright illustrations are lots of fun.
Be aware that this does not really serve as a classic alphabet book and is generally much too long for the attention span of alphabet learners.

Colorful images on pages chocked full of food and farming facts and stories are organized into an edible alphabet from “Ants on Asparagus” to “Pea Pods Pop” ending at “Zoom Zoom Zucchini”. This is a wonderful book for children of all ages who want to learn all about fresh food and where it all comes from. This books satisfies many a young curiosity. Why are some egg yolks deep orange and others a pale yellow? Why do farmers love ladybugs? What barnyard animal is the closest living relative to the Tyrannosaurus Rex? How do you take care of a woolly bear caterpillar? Author, Carol Watterson answers all of these questions and more. The bright illustrations are part collage, part acrylic hand-painted papers, and drawings done by Michela Sorrentino. Share this book with your favorite little locavore before a trip to the farmer’s market or while out in your front yard garden. Highly recommended!
