My family has listened to all of the sublimely ridiculous Pals in Peril tales. Apparently M. T. Anderson had so much fun creating the wild jungles and crumbling rococo palaces of that bizarre mid-Atlantic dictatorship, Delaware, that he had to linger here for one more installment. There are a teenaged monk who has taken a vow of sarcasm, an unbearable secret agent, a tank of artistic lobsters, and the usual array of delightful Andersonian nonsense. And the narrator is very good.
