Mlynowski scores major with this book: a clever and deftly handled time travel-type novel with a seriously offbeat twist. Taking the banal and making it most interesting. [Also emphasizes that small changes have major consequences!]

this book is really funny and a great read! i reccomend it to anyone who likes humor and a good story! plus it also has good lessons to teach kids! when i was looking for a bookmark to use for it i came across a fortune that was pretty much the lesson or moral of the story! how weird is that? it said, "DISCOVER THE POWER WITHIN YOURSELF" which in a way is the moral because she realizes that she can create her own future! and that she has the power to for example get into a good collage or get a good boyfriend who respects her, or even change the world! its within herself that she can do those things. and i think u can too.

"No! Wait! Okay, I know I sound psycho. But... Devi?"
"Yes," I say. Psycho? This girl is certifiable. "That is still my name."
"Right. See, I was at the mall and I dropped my phone into the fountain. And I had been thinking about all the things I would tell myself in the past. And now I'm talking to you."
"What," I say slowly, "are you talking about?" I would hang up, should hang up, but she sounds so familiar.
"Don't you see?" she says, sounding like she'd bursting with excitement. "I'm pretty sure I'm you. In the future."
