If you think Helter Skelter provided the last word on the horrific murders of celebrated actress Sharon Tate and four others by the notorious 'Manson family,' think again. Informed by the unpublished memoirs, personal letters and diaries of tate's late mother, father, and sister, Restless Souls is the most revealing, riveting, and emotionally raw account of these gruesome slayings, the hunt and capture of the killers, and the behind-the-scenes drama of their trials. It is also a moving account of the torment that victims' families endure for years after such a tragedy occurs. Set to release in 2012 - the year of Charles Manson's next parole hearing - this book is further testimony from the grave as to why these convicted killers and their cult leader should remain behind bars.

What a sad book. The Tate family was damaged beyond repair on the night that Sharon Tate was murdered, and the anger, guilt and depression have reached the third generation. I have lots of admiration for how they have directed their anger away from victimhood and towards activism for victims, but this is a family that desperately needed (needs?) more psychological counseling as individuals and as a family to process their grief.

Decades after reading "Helter Skelter" this book enlightened me to the struggle of Sharon Tate's family.

Excellent book. I suggest anyone who is studying this crime and belong to websites that study and discuss the crime should use this book as additional, behind the scenes, supplemental info. I have to disagree with dharmavan on one issue. There are not TONS of photos. As a matter of fact, I wish there were more photos. I think Alisa has more photos on her website or e-book, something like that. But anyway, I think it is an excellent book, the photos are good, and don't listen to Debra Tate. She and her minions are haters and Debra might have some mental issues. Give this book a chance. Even if you don't like it, at least you will come away with what the Tates went through for decades after Sharon's death, and how some of the prison protocol was changed thanks to Doris Tate. Hearing about the prison procedures will really open your eyes if nothing else will.

Incredible eye opener on the justice system and one of the most horrific murder sprees ever. I am still in shock of what the Tate family endured these past 40 years! The gruesome murders were only the beginning! Great writing, keeps you turning the pages till the very end.
