"I had everything a woman could want. My husband James. The house on the lake. My life. Our perfect life. And then Alex came to visit. The first time I saw my husband's best friend, I didn't like him. Didn't like how James changed when he was around, didn't like how his penetrating eyes followed me everywhere. But that didn't stop me from wanting him. And surprisingly, James didn't seem to mind. It was meant to be fun. Something the three of us shared for those hot summer weeks Alex stayed with us. Nobody was supposed to fall in or out of love. I didn't need another man, not even one who oozed sex like honey and knew all the secrets I didn't know, the secrets my husband hadn't shared. After all, we had a perfect life. I loved my husband. But I wasn't the only one."--P.[4] of cover.

This book pisses me off. The female, Anne is so naive and just lets James do whatever, and then his friend Alex comes in the situation. Wow how bogus.

This book touches on what happens when a charismatic but roguish man insinuates himself into the realm of a happy, perfect marriage. Of course, that’s merely the setup and if it sounds clichéd don’t be discouraged. There’s a lot more to this story than meets the eye.

Ms. Hart eschews the easy route of a predictable ménage à trois. There is more than heated sex going on between the sheets. While the three main characters do enjoy their sexual romps, the story ranges further abroad. Other characters swirl around Anne, Alex and James and the complexity of their problems reflects upon, detracts from and highlights the invisible cracks in James and Anne’s marriage.

Ms. Hart has crafted an erotic tale awash in emotional and psychological complexity. It is passionate, profound and moving in its careful delineation of the characters. There are no easy answers in life and this novel wisely expounds on that theme. Problems and people can’t always be fixed and that insight is laid out, too. This is erotica of a higher order, one that doesn’t skimp on angst. Ms. Hart understands that pain and suffering are an inevitable part of every human life and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

There are no neat and tidy resolutions to dilemmas but the characters survive and thrive. Not all truths need to be aired aloud; not all questions need an answer.

This is an extraordinary piece of erotica, one that proves that sexual stories can be more than positionings of body parts in exotic settings. “Tempted” is refreshing, disturbing and exhilarating in its probings of the human heart.

rule #1 don't fall in love. a summer of sharing don't mean caring. if it was a triad I would totally understand but it wasn't.what she did wasn't right but I get why she did it. some of us don't like other making decision for us. she is stupid and pathetic. I am still mad. it ended with a twist that I didn't see coming. am not up-set because it happen...am up-set about the way it was done. that piece of shhhhhhh Alex I cant stand him or her.
