Mary Oliver returns to the imagery that has come to define her life's work, transporting us to the marshland and coastline of her beloved home, Provincetown, Massachusetts. Oliver shares the wonder of dawn, the grace of animals, and the transformative power of attention. Whether studying the leaves of a tree or mourning her adored dog, Percy, she is ever patient in her observations and open to the teachings contained in the smallest of moments.

Mary Oliver writes in a way that is both profound and approachable with easy grace. Highly recommend her poetry - Felicity has been my favorite of her books. This one has heavy focus on her relationship to nature. Morning Paper was my favorite.

Only Poet Mary Oliver can string simple words and phrases together to create literary pearls.

Her poems appear pedestrian on the surface until they hit me over the head with profundity.

I especially enjoyed, "Life Story" on page 71 and the poem about her dog, Percy.
