Very interesting historically and I liked the plot. I also read "To Die For" and have liked that one. I haven't read the middle one yet.

I love Queen Elizabeth I and I think this was a good portrayal of her. Also, Helena is a very interesting character, someone I'd never heard of before, but important. The love story is a bit "meh" but I was more interested in the politics, fashion, setting, culture instead of romance, anyway. Sandra Byrd is a Christian author and I think it's great to read a book where the characters are actually Christian (because they all were back then) and where faith is so important to daily life. She deals delicately with the Protestant/Catholic fights and sticks to the truth. Overall, I liked this book and I recommend it for anyone who likes Christian historical fiction, since this is way better than most of the stuff out there.

A friend just finished "To Die For" & tho't it one of the best books she's ever read...hated for it to end.

read her first book "To Die For" Read about 20 pages, just couldn't stomach another religious overlay of historical fiction.
