I really liked this season. Except, did Elena have to be so whinny this season. She's always CRYING. Powerful vampire and she cries more than when she was human. All vampire emotions are supposed to be heightened. Seems all Elena got were the tears. Then she turns off her "humanity" on Damon's orders so I thought great, this will get better now. Wrong. She's not even a cool bad a**. Just annoying. No flair or spunk. Had to speed through her scenes, so irritating.

In the fourth season of The Vampire Diaries there are several storylines that are intertwined in an intense struggle to find a cure for vampirism. Elena makes her transition from human to vampire and both Stefan and Damon help her in that process. The five original vampire hunters and their descendants, the Originals as well as Silas, the first immortal who is key to the cure, are important players in the fourth season. Events in Mystic Falls are very bloody, chaotic and deadly during the main character's senior year of high school.
