Not bad, but I do wish Rose weren't still so .. feeble, to use the word that Isabella uses to describe her.
And Mr. Fountain is supposed to be a great magician but just as in the first book, he proves himself useless. Makes it sort of ridiculous.

This fun series continues with this story about Rose assisting Mr. Fountain her employer (she's a maid) AND her master (she's also a magical apprentice) in trying to protect the realm's beloved Princess Jane.

Love Rose and her practical down to earth self juxtaposed with her powerful and mostly untaught magic.

And I think Holly Webb has introduced a villain that will hold us in good stead for several books!

Can't wait to read the next one!
