The illustrations in this book are gorgeous. I had to look at it a few times before reading it. The colours are stunning. It's a re-telling of the Japanese fairy tale, about a one inch boy and his adventures. He rescues the damsel in distress from an ogre with a needle instead of a sword, but Issun Boshi is a true hero, despite his tiny size. It has a happy ending.
