The Third Grade Detectives are going on a field trip to the art museum. When they arrive they discover that an important statue has been stolen. The police quickly find the statue in pieces in a garbage dumpster. But something isn't right about the whole situation. Led by their teacher, the Third Grade Detectives attempt to solve this art mystery.

The illustrations in this book are drawings and they are absolutely amazing. They are rich and detailed and add a lot to the story.

The story and the mystery are extremely simple. But this book is advertized for grades 1-3. Simple stories are best for early readers. The reader will also learn many facts along the way about art and history. An interesting read for lower elementary.
