Kaare Andrews writes and does the art for this new take on the sometime Avenger, sometime Hero For Hire. Iron Fist gets a strong start in this new ongoing series, primarily because of the writing, which has an epic, sweeping tone. The art is somewhat of a drawback, though that's just a personal opinion- Andrews' artistic style doesn't appeal to me, though it isn't fingernails on a blackboard irritating in the way Humberto Ramos or Chris Bachalo are.

I can totally respect Kaare Andrews being inspired by the legendary Jim Steranko to try and "do it all" on his own iconic title (he says as much in his afterword), but in this case I feel a good story editor or writing partner could have helped make the story the equal of the amazing and innovative artwork and design.
I didn't find myself particularly caring about Daniel Rand or even understanding his super-abilities, and the ludicrousness of having a handy-dandy teleportation device in the basement of a derelict Manhattan skyscraper was a bit rich, to just begin with.
On the plus side, this was a pretty $exy book, so enjoy (though not so much for the kiddies).
