This is the sort of book that makes you sigh with happiness. It has a picturesque country village, an adorable baby, and a cozy mystery that is heavy on the cozy part, light on the mystery part.

For a light and feel good read, this book is great. I really enjoy the Aunt Dimity series, possibly because I did grow up in the English village environment. Some people may not be able to relate, because it truly was a community when I was growing up (raised by a village). We had fetes, bake sales, the social life centered around the church and village pub. And yes, everyone knew everyone else's business, but when disaster struck, we were there for each other. Ms. Atherton paints an excellent picture.

Aunt Dimity and the Summer King --- by --- Nancy Atherton
I have nothing against this book: I didn’t even read it (well, maybe a couple of pages --- just long enough to know it wasn’t what I had hoped for --- I was expecting more of an M.C.Beaton.) Sorry. But when you want an MC you want an MC. This little book, while set in the Cotswolds, featured (gasp!) American protagonists. Lawyers yet. I can’t identify and neither could MC. Vavoom! I’m outta here.

Always enjoy reading this cozy mystery series. Here our main character, Lori, works to save her quaint village from scheming real estate investors.

I love this series! In this book, we learn why the village of Finch is the way it is. We enjoy visits with many of our favorite characters, and introduce some new ones. It is important to read this series from the beginning, starting with Aunt Dimity's Death. This is not the strongest book in the series, but it is very enjoyable.
