Didn’t realize this was a re-release of a 2003 book until after I got it home. Must be trying to ride the wave of popularity from “Before We Were Yours.” The overall message of this book of simplifying your life, wanting less, and putting family first was nice, but this book dragged for me. The main character and the book’s general tone was whiny. It was also very predictable. I forced my way to the end an am glad to move on to a better book.

Even though this is not an official Christmas story it is a beautiful story that takes place at Christmas time. A story of family young and old who have been separated by a death and misunderstandings about how life is lived or should be lived. It shows us that perhaps we should take a step back and look at our lives. Are we obsessed by the things that we feel we should or want to have - or should we be happy by what we have and an share with others. You will be moved by the story and the people who live it. Tears will fall but there are many happy moments and a wonderful future to be seen. Highly recommend this wonderful book.
