A mix of heartfelt characters and super creepy, magical, eerie situations. I love that she explains why she wrote each story after it's over. What a great collection and a fast read... if you like the vibe of Nalo Hopkinson, Nisi Shawl, Sofia Samatar, pick this up. (Or if you like this one, check out those awesome ladies!)

Excellent stories. Interesting combination of supernatural and sci fi. Great character development. Could have used a better editor - there were a few superficial flaws that should have been corrected before publication.

What a wonderful writer! These stories are so beautifully told, scary, creepy, and wonderful.
Just how does it really feel to morph into a Swamp Thing? What does a traumatized child, desperate mother, or concerned grandfather do in dreadful circumstances? The road is as important as the destination and worth every step. Kris in PR.

Fans of Karen Russell will enjoy these creepy tales of Southern supernatural beings with a magic realism flair. Wonderfully strange and unique.
