I made it through the first disc, but then gave up as this series is not well written. The plot lines are very formulaic, the characters are very two-dimensional, and overall the series (or what I watched of it) was quite sexist. Mind you this is quite typical of most of the movies / shows that come out of Hollywood as they are trying to appeal to teens. The 1990/91 series was slightly better and at least followed the plot of the original comic book, this one however seems to be more of a "villain of the week" theme.

This is a very well put together show. It was very interesting, and different from any show I have watched. This show brought me into the DC comics universe, and made me a fan of other tv shows within the DC comics universe. It is a very cool and quite enjoyable show, and always left me wanting more. I never knew what was going to happen, and I felt like I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire season. As soon as I finished it, I wanted to watch the next season.
Overall, I would rate this 5/5.

The actors and actresses make it work and after awhile if you are a comic fan you ignore the cosmetic changes as this cast makes its own story. The Flash is arguably closest to its source material moreso than any of DC's other series or movies for that matter. At least it gets its vibe right: a sci - fi superhero mashup relevant for its time as it aims at engaging a younger demographic, not so much to the point that the older fans among us can't appreciate the end product.

I am a Ronnie-Firestorm fan, so obviously do not like how they treat the character. Iris West is horrible. And they destroy Linda Park for nothing. On the other hand, Martin Stein is a big improvement over the comics version. Do not like the "idea" of the story line but the plot is so very well executed.

Liked the show. Nice see guest appearances of original Flash show from 1990's. Great casting of actors. The Barry Allen character story line is great.

Despite the added cast and some changes in the race of different characters as well as a change in back story "The Flash" might be the most faithful to the spirit of its source material of all of the super hero shows on TV to date.

Watched the first four episodes and read some of the reviews, decided that this series is not for me. The story lines were often punctuated with actions in super-dumb-super sequences that put Barry in Flash (super) mode first for a few dramatic scenes, followed by Slow (normal human) mode for thrills before Flash mode again to save the day. As for the villains, the action sequences were mixes between super modes to normal modes, but always ended with normal/stupid modes. Also, the dialogues were bland and sophomoric. Looks like Amazon Prime writers and producers have a lot to catch up with Netflix and others like HBO.
