The real mystery is why so many people praise this book. It's crudely and awkwardly written, with numerous errors a copy editor should have caught. The main character is thoroughly unappealing and doesn't display any brilliance whatsoever, despite her reported reputation. The story doesn't seem that original. I admit after plodding through half the book with the story remaining tedious all the while, I skipped through the end in order to discover what seemed to me an unremarkable culprit. Ho hum. No more Erika Foster "thrillers" for me.

This was one of those can't-put-down books with a strong female main character who puts herself out on a limb for what she believes in, and to achieve justice. Loved it!

I thought that this book was interesting, but it's tough reading that the detective keeps getting her ass handed to her. Good story, but a little more toughness in the lead character would have been better. Great surprise ending!!

This is a poorly written and highly implausible book. The main character is a cardboard caricature -- tough, rude and takes-no-sh*t. Still, she gets attacked numerous times and barely survives... but always survives! Half-way through there is a cheesy "poem" written, as someone sincerely announces, by "Anon" -- as though it was Browning or Shakespeare. And I had to keep checking it was actually published in 2014 -- no one apparently has a cell phone/texts.

I suspect this was self-published. No one else would/should touch it.

I really enjoyed this book and the main character. I hope he writes some more.
