The surprise ending makes this book well worth reading. Definitely geared toward high school readers, especially with the realistic depiction of a high school romance. Each chapter begins with a police interview of a different character, which gives clues to what happens at the end, but doesn't give too much away. Then Vic narrates the rest of the chapter, and her internal dialog is well written.

My Thoughts: This story had an amazing “hook”, drawing me in immediately. It opens with such a dramatic event that I found the book difficult to put down, devouring it in just a few hours. The drama between Vic, Z, and Andrew kept me wondering how the book would end – would they end up together or would Vic decide Andrew was the one for her? What I discovered at the end was completely unexpected, leaving me gasping for air.

As for the mechanics of this book, I found the plot to be very well developed and planned. The characters were realistically dynamic and the dialogue was natural. The prose, told in first person POV by Victoria, flowed nicely.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good love story and mystery.
