Bassist Willie Dixon was one of the great bluest songwriters, penning "I Ain't Superstitious," "Little Red Rooster," "Spoonful," and "You Shook Me," which Led Zeppelin ripped off, among other songs. This 1970 album, which shares its name with his autobiography, was perhaps an attempt to remind people that he was behind all these classic songs, but, for the most part, these versions are inferior to the original versions by blues titans like Muddy Water, Howling Wolf, and Bo Diddley. Of interest, but by no means essential.
