Great movie. Tom Hanks is brilliant, as usual. Really incredible story of "The Miracle on the Hudson." Do not watch right before going on an airplane, though!

Watch archived news footage of the event instead. That way you save yourself 90 minutes of sheer boredom

A good movie about a great story. Fine for the whole family.

Eastwood has delivered a no-frills affair, almost to a fault. A brisk 96 minutes, the movie is workmanlike in its approach, yet still manages to be stirring thanks to the subject matter.

Absolutely did NOT disappoint. This is an awesome film that takes you in the seat of the hero bringing down the plane. Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart were excellent in their roles. They couldn't have chosen a better person to play Sully.
If you love flying as I do then you will LOVE this film. After seeing this, I'm seriously thinking of purchasing a copy for my own library.
Sully and his co-pilot were so humble about the whole thing... giving credit to the entire crew, the air traffic controllers, the passengers. Amazing how everyone came together and had the situation under control in just 24 minutes!
I was on hold to borrow this movie for several months - it was definitely worth the wait.
HIGHLY recommend it! Another of Clint Eastwood's masterpieces.

A realistic, moving portrait without any unnecessary fluff or filler. This is real-life drama that can be enjoyed by a wide age range if they have the sense to appreciate quality.

Though Sully doesn't push too far outside the boundaries of its genre, it still manages to be a subtle, understated representation of a very grandiose achievement.

Need a solid drama. You are NOT going go wrong with Clint Eastwood directing and Tom Hanks acting. This movie brought out the big guns. The producers had to when dealing with the heavy subject matter of Flight 1549 and Sully Sullenberger.

Many quotes in IMDb. Favorite is:
Elizabeth Davis: [At the NTSB investigation proceedings] First Officer Skiles, is there anything you'd like to add? Anything... you would have done differently if you... had to do it again?
Jeff Skiles: Yes. I would've done it in July.

This one is not in IMDb:

Here's a funny thing: I've delivered a million passengers over 40 years in the air... but in the end I'lm gonna be judged on 208 seconds.

Just once I'd like to get out of LaGuardia on time.
-Well you know the only way to get out of LaGuardia.
No, what's that?
-Flight from JFK.
