"The Camino de Santiago is a 500 mile, historic pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. It is walked by thousands every year, both Christians and non-believers. To mark his 50th birthday, the brilliant Norwegian cartoonist Jason decided that walking the length of the Camino was what he needed to do. On the Camino is Jason's memoir of that trek -- 32 days and 500 miles from St. Jean Pied de Port to Finisterre, observing with the eye of an artist, chronicling both the good (people, conversations) and the bad (blisters, bedbugs). Full of quiet incidents, odd encounters, small triumphs, and the occasional setback" -- provided by publisher.

Maybe a bit slower than his previous works, but this is a great book with fantastic art. If you're a fan of Jason's work, pick this up. If you're looking for a starting point, I'd recommend 'I KILLED ADOLF HITLER' or 'WHAT I DID' before reading this. All his stuff is worth checking out if you're a fan of the medium.

Good drawings, but kinda boring.

I like this in a different way than Jason's other works. I haven't given much thought to him as a cartoonist/artist when reading his other books. It's like watching a movie, and NOT thinking "Hey, Robert De Niro is playing an interesting character", or, "I sure love what Jennifer Lawrence is conveying". It is much more anonymous or distanced. In his latest work, we get some insight into Jason's personality. It is autobiographical without being overbearing. 4.5 out of 5 stars. I zipped right through it, and can hardly wait for his next book.
