As the ash and chaos from Mount Rainier's eruption swirled and finally settled, the story of the Greenloop massacre has passed unnoticed, unexamined, until now. But the journals of resident Kate Holland, recovered from the town's bloody wreckage, capture a tale too harrowing and too earth-shattering in its implications, to be forgotten. Because if what Kate Holland saw in those days is real, then we must accept the impossible. We must accept that the creature known as Bigfoot walks among us, and that it is a beast of terrible strength and ferocity.

I very much enjoyed this story. The atmosphere, the character development, the true ape facts at the beginning of each chapter... all of it was just so rich in detail. The gruesome picture painted in this book is enough to make you think twice about heading into the mountains anytime soon.

Devolution is sort of like X-Files meets Lord of the Flies, but add some more gore. If you love exploring the darkest parts of human nature calling us back to our evolutionary origins, then you'll love this book. It's not for the faint-of-heart, but it will certainly suck you in and distract you from the world outside. Might I recommend not reading it right before bedtime?

Nothing could have such a big foot.

It's great to live free of the other sheep until you hear the wolves howl.
