Following the first book, I was entirely captivated and couldn't put this sequel down. I loved the new perspectives given from Logan and Isabeau, and I liked the way Isabeau was very powerful in her own unique ways. I enjoyed the flashbacks to old Europe from her point of view and learning her character's backstory, which I honestly found more interesting than most of the rest of the book. I also enjoyed the way that we went more into depth from Logan's point a view, a character that was otherwise almost unknown in Hearts at Stake. All in all, slightly less interesting than the first book, but still a good read. - @PageTurner of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
