Oogy

the Dog Only a Family Could Love

I really enjoyed this book. I think the first chapter does it a bit of a it disservice as it talks about the author's morning routine and it takes a bit to hit its stride. Once we learn about Oogy's background, how the author acquired him, as well as his true breed, this book takes some interesting turns. What I loved about this heartfelt story is that it looks at what it means to rescue a dog from a rough background and give it a life worth living. The author makes a statement that made me cry but it's completely true in that when you accept an animal into your life, you are responsible for the health, happiness, and to provide them with peace, and that is 100% true. This book was pure fluff, but I appreciated the depths of how Larry's family accepted this form bait fighting dog into their lives and gave him as perfect of a life as they could. Definitely recommend it to dog lovers.
