I was attracted to this book because I have always liked thrillers, and the mathematical component was just bonus material. This book however, can hardly be called a thriller at all. Maybe I am spoiled by Dan Brownian thrillers, but this book develops at such a slow pace that it seemed it was more focused on the protagonist's internal development than developing suspense. It didn't help that I could tell who the ultimate culprit was about half way through the book already.
