Downpour --- by Kat Richardson. Having read Richardson’s “Seawitch” and “Poltergeist” I was impressed and entertained enough to have a go at another of her novels. Downpour was a the top of the heap. KR employs her usual ingredients: the Grey, lines of energy and her ability to “read” other people by the halo they exude. Kat adds some ingredients not found in there other two novels, most notable of which are the Zombies. Relegated to a minor role of no great import they are there none the less. In my opinion, this novel is not as compelling as the other two. It could be the story line or it could be there were more interruptions to my reading time. For me, the tread of continuity seemed interrupted: in places Downpour left me uncomfortably confused. Not as good as Seawitch? You be the judge. After all, reading a novel is as much about what you bring to it as the author’s contribution.
