Allegiant is the third and final novel in the Divergent trilogy written by Veronica Roth. Violence and the struggle for power have completely destroyed Tris Prior’s society. Therefore, when given the opportunity to adventure past all the barriers in her world, she takes it. Tris is hoping it will lead her into a new life. Along with Tobias, Tris learns that the world outside is even more complicated than the world inside. Secrets, discoveries, and truths will all change what Tris is going to fight for. This novel is definitely a mature read and not suitable for a younger audience. The book is also harder to understand than regular teen novels because each chapter switches perspectives between Tris and Tobias. Just like the other two novels in the series, the themes in Allegiant are very dark. The story is extremely engaging and captivates the readers attention. This is the type of novel that is very hard to put down. If you enjoyed reading Divergent and Insurgent, I would highly recommend you read the final novel in the trilogy, Allegiant. Overall, if I had to rate this novel I would rate it five out of five stars. - @SapphireReads of The Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board Allegiant is the final book in the Divergent trilogy, and wraps up the events that occurred in the previous book. This is the slowest book in the trilogy, in my opinion, but the build up to the end is unexpected, and definitely leaves an impact on the reader. This book showcases a wide range of emotion from the characters, and is a rollercoaster to read about. The only thing that I'd criticize is the changes of point of view. POV changes can get confusing, and is something that isn't my cup of tea personally. This book was a good conclusion to the series, and overall, the trilogy was entertaining to read and experience.  - @loona of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library Allegiant is the last book of the Divergent series, ending all loose ends in Tris' life as well as the systematic restrictions of the faction system. The series itself had always been a favourite of mine, and it didn't disappoint. Allegiant was the most heart wrenching out of all three books (also the Four spinoffs, if included). While the book didn't come with its fair share of flaws, the overall writing and characters made me overlook it all. Throughout the book, you keep questioning the character's hard decisions as morally balanced, constantly putting yourself in their position to see what you would do. In my opinion, if a book can get you thinking and questioning, it's a good book. This is definitely a series you'll want to look into.  - @Spectacles of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
