Lyrics excerpt - "I'd been had.... I was sad and blue.... But you made me feel shiny and new." With her highly-polished, 2nd studio album, "Like A Virgin", hitting the pop charts in 1984, the 26 year-old Madonna Louise Ciccone (aka. Miss Blond Ambition) was instantly catapulted into mega-stardom like no other pop-siren of her generation. Born in Bay City, Michigan (1958), Madonna, an often-imitated fashion trend-setter, proved to be a mighty shrewd businesswoman throughout the style-conscious 80s. I mean - Surprise! Surprise! She certainly turned out to be no "one-hit-wonder". Always striving to remain at the absolute forefront of dance music, Madonna, the ultimate material girl/boy toy, is a 7-time Grammy Award winner whose records (collectively) have sold over 300 million copies, worldwide. But, on the other hand - Madonna, as an actress, is certainly quite another story. To date, Madonna has been nominated numerous times for a Golden Raspberry Award as "Worst Actress". Out of a grand total of 16 nominations since 1987's Shanghai Surprise, Madonna now has 7 of these awards to her credit, making her an actress with most Razzies ever.
