This is a very interesting book. It offers a glimpse into how Japanese detectives solve crime. I don't know how accurate the procedure is, but it sounds plausible. They put together a task force of 50+ officers to solve one murder. That shows how rare violent crime is in Japan. The book meander a bit. This is probably mostly cultural. The best detective books by US writers are short and very direct. I'm a huge fan of Michael Connelly's books. They read fast and the case are solved very quickly or not at all. All in all, a pretty good read. 3.5 stars.
