This movie escaped my notice until now (2018)--almost ten years later. Doesn't matter: timeless. Glad I found it. It would have been an "ok" movie, but the performances by a number of seasoned, gifted performers makes it even better. Simple story--bit of a mystery, revealed at the end--simply told. Nicely understated--a welcome change from fast cuts and loud action. Great work by all concerned--Murray, Spacek, Duvall and relative newcomer Kevin Black as the young husband, father and funeral parlour employee about to learn a whole lot of lessons about life--while in the business of death. So we learn right along with him.
