There were a lot of things that surprised me about this movie, namely how hilarious it was. I expected something more dramatic and, well, frankly boring. But there were some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. My heart really went out to Donald Sutherland's character and he played his part very well. I didn't really care for Helen Miran that much but she was good in this and believable in the role of his wife. I really enjoyed the general storyline with the husband and wife going on an adventure together. The RV (camper) reminded me of my grandparents and the trips our family used to take, and the trip in general reminded me of my husband who passed away last month. We traveled frequently on long car trips and by plane so this film was a little bittersweet in that respect. That being said, I cannot believe how horrible the ending was. It was as though whomever wrote this deiced to drop a bomb on the audience after showing them this wonderful film. I seriously almost gave this five stars and I probably would have had it not been for the final scene. It completely ruined the movie. I had fallen asleep watching the film last night and after I woke up I found myself wondering how it turned out. I was completely and utterly disappointed and I can't even believe that the movie went in that direction. It was like a slap in the face and I don't know what the writers was thinking but they should be ashamed.
